Beckham not selected for Olympic team
Beckham Has Been Excluded from the Olympic Squad
David Beckham’s exclusion from England’s newly announced soccer team for the upcoming London Olympic has come a huge blow on the hope of the former national team captain to end his career in style.
The midfielder, currently playing in the Los Angeles Galaxy team, has expected to be one of the three over-aged players who can play in the under-23 squad. However, Stuart Pearce’s team has no room for him for the tournament that will be held in July and August.
Beckham expressed his disappointment but confirmed to be continuing as the big supporter of the team.
Instead of Beckham, Pearce has chosen Manchester United’s winger Ryan Giggs, right back of Manchester City Micah Richards, and striker Craig Bellamy for the team as the three over-aged players.
The Football Association (FA) has not yet issued any official explanation from the coach Pearce over this issue. It is expected that the FA will give the list of final squad to the British Olympic Association (BOA) in the next week.
