Google has planned to enter the market of tablet PC with a self-branded 7-inch slate.
Google has recently revealed some information about its much-rumored 7-inch Asus tablet. The ‘Google Asus Nexus 7’ device will be furnished with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1 operating system, and a monitor resolution of 1280×768.

According to a recent rumor, the device will be uncovered at Google’s I/O conference this month and the official release in the market will be on July. Google originally planned to launch it in May but due to some minor adjustments to design and costs, the product is scheduled for July.

The new device targets to occupy the low-cost market that has been dominated by Apple’s iPad. Experts think that this tablet is also going to face fierce competition from other 7-inch tablets, like Samsung Galaxy Tab, Nook Tablet by Barnes and Nobles, Amazon’s Kindle Fire, etc.

With a speculated price tag of $200-$250, Google is expecting to ship 2-2.5million pieces in 2012.
