Mariah “Idol” judge, Swift, Bieber top Teen’s Choice

Mariah Carey is going to be the new judge in the next season of American Idol. It is hoped that her star power will enhance the show’s diminished viewership. While the show still has a high rating, its impact on the status of pop culture has decelerated in recent times.

Carey was excited after receiving the news and said that she could not wait to start the show in the fall. The chief of Fox Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, called her to be the biggest recording artist that any of such talent shows ever had.

The show will be started airing on January of the next year. Among the 3 judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left the show at the end of the last season.

On the other hand, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift continued their runs as the favorites of teenage fans at the Teen Choice Awards. Swift grabbed five awards while Bieber, who performed two songs from his latest album, received four.
