Massive Solar Flare Could Cause Auroras Over New York
This week there is a possibility of auroras to appear on the sky. So, if you keep an eye on the sky, you might be lucky enough to have a sight of auroras.
On July 12, a solar flare sloughed off the sun and it can hit the earth at 4am ET on July 17.
People who are living in the north have greater opportunity to watch the magnificent aurora borealis. The lights will be more intense on the northern sky for the sun’s releasing a large solar flare on Thursday and Friday. The flare started to affect the Earth from Saturday morning.
The solar flare is very big as the astronomers described it as extreme. However, the spaceweather.com did not give it the status of more than a moderate rank.
Though moderate, the solar flare will possibly be strong enough for anyone to enjoy the lovely northern lights.
Apart from the lovely show on the sky, it has no possibility to affect anything else such as electronics and other similar things.
