ReadySet, a transportable solar charger, is now available in U.S. The charger was originally produced for using in the African countries.

In Africa, electricity socket is something rare to find and people have to go far distances for charging their cell phones and other chargeable things with diesel generator. To solve this energy problem, Fenix International, a San Francisco-based company, introduced ReadySet Solar Kit three years ago.

Now the company is looking for entering the U.S. market through a Kickstarter campaign. The company has intended to spend the money gathered from the U.S. market sales in expanding work in Africa.

The company has described this battery as an intelligent system that can be charged from electric grid, solar, or even a bicycle generator. This battery can be used to charge tablets, cell phones, Wi-Fi hotspots, and other similar devices.

While these batteries are especially designed to use in African rural areas, Mike Lin, the CEO of the company, sees their usefulness in U.S. too.
