Hillary Clinton’s critics used to say that she had faked her stomach illness in December in order to avoid an inquiry from Congress. However, on Wednesday she appeared anything but concerned while spending six hours answering the some questions about the death of American ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi. She just conquered the Capitol Hill.
It was the last important appearance of Hillary as the secretary of state. After that, she will go back to her private life. On Wednesday’s meeting, she just engrossed her admirers with an emerald green jacket and her weight of speech.
Republican senators, especially Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson and Kentucky’s Rand Paul, tried relentlessly to snub Hillary over the Benghazi issue but she stood out and rather showed resent and frustration over their line of questioning. Paul even said that he would have asked Hillary to resign if he were on the power.
In a word, it was a terrific political theater.
