The White House has extended Monday’s deadline for ObamaCare by 24 ours. It means that people in thirty-six states will have their last chance to sign up for the government healthcare scheme.
The new deadline has been set up at Tuesday midnight. People who will sign up by this time will be eligible to have coverage by January 1. Every person, who got in line Monday, will be covered no matter his/her enrolment does not take before Tuesday night.
However, a spokeswoman for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said that though the deadline was extended till Tuesday, Monday was technically the original deadline.
Spokeswoman Julie Bataille confirmed that Monday was the deadline for signing up to be covered by January 1. She said that they were committed to ensure the healthcare for every person who had made their final decision on Monday.
‘The Washington Post’ first reported about the deadline change and CMS confirmed it after that.
