On May 28, the Lake County Sheriff finally confirmed the death news of Cullen Finnerty. At a press conference, Sheriff Robert Hilts verified the news by saying that they had found the dead body of the 30-year-old former quarterback of Grand Valley State.
He last called his wife on May 26 and told her that he was in trouble. After two days on May 28, police found the body in the forests in Baldwin.
Scott Boyd from the search party found the body. He said that they found the body wearing camouflage jacket and fishing waders. The search party did not notice any marks of violence or injuries. So, the cause behind Cullen’s death seemed nothing obvious to them.
According to the report, Cullen went for fishing alone on the Baldwin River on May 26. Police found his small boat but there was no fishing gears.
He left his wife and two children.
