After winning the Seattle-based chain Tully’s Coffee shops in a bankruptcy auction, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Patrick Dempsey announced his plan to run the shops seriously.

Dempsey gave an interview on Friday in which he said that Tully’s would need to make a strong standing in Seattle given that it was an underdog there. He said that he had plans to spread the chain throughout the country once the business became stabilized.

However, the rival Starbucks issued a statement on Thursday in which they hinted that Dempsey would make a mistake if he started celebrating too early.

According to Starbucks, a final declaration on the winning bid could not be made until the court gave its verdict on January 11. The company said to be in a good position to purchase 25 out of 47 cafes of Tully’s while another unnamed bidder offered buying the rest of the cafes.

The offer of Dempsey’s company was $9.2 million while the offer of Starbucks with the unnamed bidder was $10.6 million.
