London Now: Let the Games Begin

The London Olympics got a royal touch by the inclusion of the Queen Elizabeth II and James Bond. Besides that, the opening ceremony was rocked with the rhythm of the Stones, the Beatles, and the Who. In fact, the creativity of Danny Boyle, the Oscar winning director, was seen painted all over the $42 million worth ceremony.

The Queen took part in a short film with the nation’s most aspiring spy – James Bond. According to the organizers, it was the first time that the monarch has acted in a film.

Later on, while the Queen stood inside the stadium, a group of children greeted her with ‘God Save the Queen’ and members of the Army, Royal Air Force, and Royal Navy raised the Union Jack.

The major part of the opening ceremony was an encyclopedic review of the enriched history of British music. Besides audiences from all over the worlds, almost 60,000 buzzing crowd was presented on the stadium to enjoy the grand ceremony.
