McDonald’s Corp closed the website that they launched for helping the employees with guidance for their work and life. The decision has been taken after the site generated negative public responses.
The criticisms for the McResource program came because of its unrealistic guidance and budgets. It offered such advices that were not possible for the workers’ to follow with their earnings. The site also advised the employees to avoid fast foot and eat healthy food.
On Thursday, McDonald’s said that it was going to take down the website. An outside company ran the site.
McDonald’s said in a statement that they decided to shut down the site because of its containing outdated or irrelevant information. Labor groups and media criticized the site again earlier this year for providing sample budgets for workers based on no included cost for heating and holding two jobs.
However, the company said that it would maintain an internal telephone help line for the workers.
