On Wednesday, actor Michael Ansara died at his California home at the age of 91. Michael B. Druxman, Ansara’s former agent, announced the news of his death.
The actor was best known for his role as the villainous Klingon commander, Kang, in three iterations of ‘Star Trek’.
The character actor appeared as Kang in the original ‘Star Trek’ series and in renowned sci-fi series ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ and ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’.
He had a memorable acting career and a remarkable a personal life including a famous marriage to ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ star Barbara Eden. Besides this marriage, he was married to his wife Beverly for 36 years.
A Druxman provided biography revealed that Ansara was born in a small Syrian village. At the age of two, he came to America with his American parents. He had his breakout TV role in ‘Broken Arrow’, a 1950s series.
Many people including ‘Star Trek’ actor William Shatner and his former wife Eden offered condolences upon the news.
