A fire broke out on the cruise ship named ‘Grandeur of the Seas’ belonged to the Royal Caribbean. This was the second time this year when a blaze broke out in the voyage of a cruise ship.
The ship, which had 2,200 passengers, was going to the Bahamas. However, the authority arranged for charter flights from the Bahamas, which supposedly brought back all the passengers in Baltimore within Tuesday afternoon.
The fire accident occurred on Monday at around 2:50 a.m. However, the authority was able to extinguish it after two hours. Fortunately, the accident did not cause any injuries.
The authority cancelled the next tour scheduled on May 31. Cynthia Martinez, the spokeswoman for the Royal Caribbean, said that she could not give any updates regarding what happened.
The fire broke out on several decks of the ship and a substantial are of the stern was burned. The cause of the accident was yet to be known.
