San Francisco holds the largest part themed after math and pastry on the ‘Pi Day’. The party is held at the ‘Exploratorium’ where people will have Pi lectures, Pi Procession encircling the Pi Shrine and of course, actual pi.

Exploratorium’s Ron Hipschman said that the day began in 1988 when the ‘Prince of Pi’ Larry Shaw realized that the perfect day to observe the never-ending number would be March 14. This year, the celebration on March 14 will mark the 25th Annual Pi day. The celebration on that day will act as a pre-party to the inauguration of the Exploratorium on its new whereabouts Pier 15 on April 17.

The celebrations will be started at 1:59 tomorrow so that the time and date fit the first five digits of pi.

According to Hipschman, the day has become a kind of geek celebration that is now observed in almost every school and university around the world.
