Viola Mourton, a 51-year-old secretary from Iowa, buys a Powerball ticket every day. In spite of that, she was seen on Thursday buying several more at her local convenience store. While asked about it, she said that she would buy a couple more that day because it was a great opportunity to win big money. And, the same is likely to be the game plan for others across the country.
According to the lottery officials, the Powerball drawing on Wednesday night did not match any ticket, which means the current jackpot of $320 million could bulge before the next drawing on Saturday. On Wednesday, three tickets won the prize of $1 Million Match 5.
At present, the jackpot is the sixth biggest amount in the country’s lottery history. However, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Lottery, Mary Neubauer, said that the jackpot amount could increase depending ticket sales at the end of the day.
