‘Smash’ Premiere Falls Short, Loses Viewers

Perhaps, it is the time for NBC to change the name of its Broadway drama ‘Smash’ as the show has been losing viewers continuously.

On Tuesday night, the debut episode of the second season was aired on the network. However, the number of viewers on Tuesday night suggested that the show could be more suitably called as ‘Smithereens’. In fact, the ranking of Tuesday’s episode might possibly determine the future of the show.

The episode got an astounding 71% less viewers. NBC’s targeted viewers are the people who are between 18 and 49 years. However, the series received responses for the lead episodes.

It also got 60% less viewers than what it got for the first-season debut episode. The number of viewers jumped down to 4.46 million from 11.4 million. Maybe even poorer, the show jumped down 39 percent from previous season’s finale.

In fact, the viewers of the show have been decreasing in a continuous basis.
